Meanings/Symbolism: (1) On the level of ideals: the Blue stands for being yourself; the white stands for honesty; and the green stands for not attacking anyone else, and being at peace with others. (2) On the level of geography in Cook County: the green stands for the Park District, forest preserves, and nature; the blue stands for water, Lake Michigan, and the Chicago River; and the white stands for peace and harmony among the different people of Cook County.
