Meanings/Symbolism: It is inspired by the City of Chicago’s flag. It has 31 stars because Cook County was founded in 1831. It has 4 colors. The yellow symbolizes the sun and peace. Blue represents the sky and water/the lake/the Chicago River. Green represents nature and the forests. The colored stripes are powerful. They represent water and nature. But, more notably, they visually guide you around the whole flag. The stars have 6 points to represent the 6 regions of the county.
