The flags primary focus is a tree, symbolizing cook county’s commitment to the preservation of the environment and forest preserves. The tree is white symbolizing the dignity which cook county has possessed being the most populated county in Illinois. The symbol of a hand holding a heart represents our counties generosity not only to nature but our county has helped develop this nation, while making sure transportation is up to date and citizens are healthy and happy. The blue circle the encases the symbol represents our outstanding level of responsibility for nature while the symbol itself is red representing the passion we have for the citizens as we provide healthcare regardless of the ability to pay for it.
